Welcome to Ashgate's Interdisciplinary Studies homepage
Ashgate’s publishing
programme has in recent years benefited from the significant
increase in interdisciplinary research. The intersections of
academic disciplines that this research explores are proving rich
and innovative.
Whilst interdisciplinary books are published and marketed within
relevant subject-specific publishing lines (and you will find them
in the subject-specific web pages on this site) we recognise that
it would be helpful for those academics working within discrete
geographic area studies or period-specific studies to be able to
view titles on our website by these broader headings. Books which
do not fall into these two categories it is useful to group
together under headings relating to culture and society.
The aim of this page therefore is to serve the interdisciplinary
scholar by drawing from our large publishing programmes in the
Humanities, Social Sciences, Arts, Business and Professional
Practices, and Reference to present in one place research and
scholarship pertaining to particular geographical, national or
cultural regions, specific periods, and culture and society
studies. These areas are listed, alphabetically, here for you on
the right hand side of your screen.
